Introduction
I am making a functional toy lightsaber for my Kitt Fisto costume. I was going to do this anyway but Ben told me this could be my science project. I thought it was a great idea, so we got to work.

Parts and How they Work
The main parts to this circuit are the 4 super bright green L.E.D.s and the 2 220ohm resistors. Resistors makes the amount of current less so the L.E.D.s don't burn out. L.E.D.s on the other hand are like tiny lightbulbs. My L.E.D.s are 10 times brighter than a lightbulb. L.E.D. stands for light emitting diode."The longer wire protruding from the LED must receive a more positive charge voltage than the shorter wire"(Platt, p.16). I put it like it said.I used L.E.D. center to design the circuit for my lightsaber.

What I did and What I used
List of things that I used in the circuit and lightsaber itself : plumbers (PVC) pipe, plastic tube, 4 green L.E.D.s, 2 220 ohm resistors, 4 L.E.D. holders, plastic wrap, 5 screws, 4 bolts, 4 metal brackets, 1 rocker switch, a 9volt battery with holder, 9 volt battery connector, and wires.
First I put the L.E.D.s in their little holders. Then I put them in some holes on the lid. After that I soldered them to the resistors. Next I soldered the resistors to a wire that connected to the switch. Then I connected the battery to the switch. Finally I roughed up the tube with sandpaper and had it connected to the base.

Conclusion
It turned out great. It is almost as good as if we bought instead of making it. I would not change it if I could. It was my first time soldering.
